I must be nuts

Starting XZ flies in the face of all my experience in this industry. If you aren't already famous, you have to have a LOT of money to get traction. 

I've got years of experience in product development and manufacturing. I've even run small personal care companies (recently!) and consult with some big names on hair and skin care product development. 

I know this industry. 

The hardest part about doing a new product line is getting the word out to your consumers. That means a big spend on advertising, influencers, placement promotions, incentives, etc. Simply put, you need to spend a lot of money unless you are already famous with an online following. 

I didn't intend to start XZ as a company. It's been a personal project for a long time. Over the last seven years I've been experimenting with formulations for my family's eczema. I've probably read a couple of hundred scientific papers, and trialed at least fifty ingredients. The current Skin Relief product is the result - it really works great -and it was family and friends that kept telling me to put it on the market. 

Family and friends, love them dearly, and they wore down my rational experienced objections to any such thing. So here I am. Making small batches, doing all the online socials so a couple of hundred people might watch a thirty second video to the end, and looking at my VISA balance for all the coin spent so far. Good ingredients aren't cheap, folks. Bottles, professional labels, shipping boxes, package inserts, all the accounts - its a few thousand here and another there just to make a few hundred units. This is not cheap or easy. 

TikTok and Instagram promise that if I just spend ten thousand more the sales will happen. Don't ask me about Facebook. I'm not even bothering with Amazon, that's where small companies go to die - they take 55% off the top BUT if you aren't spending more than your remaining margin to get on the first page there is no point - I can't compete w/ Aveno on ad spend. 

Mr. VISA says I'm not spending even part of ten grand. So I hope some of you find your way here. If we can get this going together, I have a dandruff shampoo and conditioner that will CHANGE YOUR LIFE. I just need to get this going. Once you try Skin Relief you'll be a believer. It might be magic!
